A Nice Balance
Annie Clenahan, Vancouver
Vancity
Whenever Annie Clenahan reviews her personal account, it’s not just the financial balance that makes the Liverpool native feel good about belonging to a BC credit union; it’s also the credit union’s support for balance in terms of both healthy living and a sustainable community.
“I like the commitment to the environment and presence in the community,” says Annie in her busy office near Vancouver’s Granville Island. She belongs to Vancity and can remember the exact day she became a member. “June 20, 1987.”
Annie moved to Canada twenty-one years ago after a backpacking trip to BC. A physically active outdoors enthusiast, when she isn’t working as a office manager for a company that provides a range of services to financial institutions, she’s coaching mountain biking, participating in a running club, hiking the North Shore mountains or practicing yoga. With every waking moment accounted for, she appreciates the flexible banking options offered by her credit union.
“I do almost all my banking online and it’s very, very convenient,” says Annie.
BC’s credit unions reflect the values of communities across the province, where people enjoy an enviable range of athletic and recreational activities, and, of course, the great outdoors. They make it easy for people like Annie to balance their finances while at the same time contributing to the health and well-being of their communities.
